Jawan Qayadat
Azme Alishan created a debating competition aimed at teenagers to encourage a positive exchange of ideas and debate about improving the future conditions of Pakistan. Called Jawan Qayadat, the show broadcasted on television and the winner received not only a substantial cash prize but an opportunity to address the Senate of Pakistan.
Sanwaro Pakistan
Hundreds of people from across Lahore took to the streets in one of the largest ever coordinated efforts to clean up the streets and neighborhoods of the city. The ‘Sanwaro Pakistan’ drive, part of the larger Azme Alishan movement was launched to coincide with Earth Day, the annual day of action that seeks to raise awareness about environmental concerns. With at least 30 mohallas across Lahore and hundreds of people involved in the effort,this turned out to be the largest ever campaign of its kind in the city.
